There was once a little boy that just couldn’t sleep, even in my tummy. He would be awake all night doing somersaults. I wrote a poem at the time about my pregnancy experience with him.
Pregnancy Malarky
It’s a funny thing this pregnancy malarky
Didn’t know how hard it would be
A fuzzy mind like you are walking through fog
Nose receptors that match that of a dog
Food aversions and continual sickness
Legs and ankles growing daily in thickness
Vertigo and passing out
Super hairy legs that continually sprout
Heartburn and acid reflux
A painful expanding stomach
Nosebleeds and bleeding gums
Being constipated or having the runs
Sleepless nights and many a nightmare
But you do get super shiny hair
It’s a funny thing this pregnancy malarky
Didn’t know how exciting it would be
Feeling little one wriggling and jiggling in your tum
Grinning from ear to ear at the thought of being Mum
Hearing bumps heartbeat for the first time
Like many horses galloping in a line
Ultrasound scans with tiny moving hands and feet
The first pictures of your little one that are so sweet
Excitedly watching your bump grow
Radiant skin, a pregnancy glow
Just can’t wait to be a mum
Love feeling the kicks from our little one xx??
